Vermont native Erin Bentledge won a Grammy Award
The Vermont native has won her first Grammy Award. Jazz musician and songwriter Erin Bentledge won the Grammy for best arrangement, instrumental and vocals on Sunday night for “In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning,” a song from her group’s debut album featuring Jacob Collier.

Other members of the group include Sara Gazerek, Amanda Taylor, and Jonaye Kendrick.
Bentlage, who is currently a faculty member at the Los Angeles College of Music and Silverlake Conservatory of Music, was previously nominated in the same category in 2019 for the group’s first original song in 2020.

Bentlage’s website says she has contributed to projects including film scores and singing backup vocals for artists including Moonchild, Pomplamooze, Michael Mayo and Sara Gazarek.
Meanwhile, Vermont rocker Noah Kahan did not pick up a Grammy for Best New Artist at this year’s Grammys, losing to singer Victoria Monet.
